- You should feel comfortable losing some battles as long as you win the important ones and the war. If you move from battle to battle without losing a single one, that means you have not taken enough risks.

- Target the minimum performance requirements and always exceed them.

- Targets. as internal performance control tools, are mostly a result of negotiation among management layers. In most cases, they have little to do with true, “absolute” performance, which is really measured within the competitive environment.

- Most of your work seems like a drop in the ocean compared to your total company contribution, but this drop is the ocean for you.

- When you set targets, set them according to your potential, not according to marketing averages, competition, or management expectations.
